The biggest release of the year is coming out this Friday. Pokemon Sword and Shield. Here is my sales and critical predictions.
Pokemon games do around 82-88 so I think this one will do around 85-88. People will love the new Pokemon, graphics, open world and gameplay. Some will comeplain about it not being ambitious enough.
Smash Bros record is gone. Expect 5-6 million in 2 or 3 days. 12-15 million by year’s end and 20-22 million lifetime sales.
There you go. Will I be right? Or am I off my rocker? Comment below and subscribe to our blog for more fun.

Kojima’s name carries so much weight in the video game industry. Whenever one of his games is announced, it gets a lot of attention. Death Stranding is no different. The hype has been mixed, but since the game has been released to reviewers, it is getting some positive buzz. I am gonna predict how this game will do sales and critically.
This is so hard to predict. I do think a lot of critics will appreciate the game, but I also think there are gonna be a lot of detractors as well. I am gonna give a wide birth. This game will go between 74-86. I think it comes down to how much fun the reviewer has with the game. Kojima has said the game takes awhile to get going. Will some critics be patient? Will the payoff be worth it? I think some critics will love the mystery and story, while others will hate how convoluted and boring it is.
So many people have this game doing great. I don’t know. I think it depends. If the review scores are great, yes, it will do great. However, if the scores are mixed. It will start out strong, but fall fast. If the reviews are over 86, the game will sell 2 million it’s first week and 5-6 million overall. If the scores are below 79, it will do 1.5 million it’s opening week and 2.7 million overall. I think the latter is what’s gonna happen.
This game is an acquired taste. It’s not a mainstream game and it will baffle a lot of players and critics. It will have a following, but it’s not gonna break out like HZD did.

Aladdin went no1 this week on the home video sales. Borlderlands 3 was no1 on most of the charts on VGCartz, Post Malone was no1 on the Billboard 200 and Stephen King’s new book, the Institute was no1 on the NYT best sellers list. The links will be below if you want to read all of them.

It is that time again. I am gonna predict what kind of critical response and how much a certain game could sell. This time, it’s Link’s Awakening for the Nintendo Switch.
The early previews have been glowing, so that should equal to a 88-92 on Open and Meta critic. Reviewers love the look and the combat. That will help it score great with critics.
Remakes sell very well now, so I got this one between 4-6 million. A lot of people have never played Link’s Awakening, and for fans who missed dungeons in Breath of the Wild, Link’s Awakening has a dungeon creator and dungeons galore.
Link’s Awakening is a gem and since tons of new gamers have gotten into Zelda, a lot of them will check out this lost gem. Do not pass it up, this is going to be such a great game. The Legend of Zelda, Link’s Awakening comes out this Friday.

Here are the charts for home video, video games, music and books.
Alita Battle Angel was no1 with Hellboy being no2. Ed Sheeran was no1 on the Billboard 200 albums. Fire Emblem 3 Houses debuted no1 on most VGChartz this week. One Good Deed is the no1 book on the NYT best sellers list.

I was close with MUA3 and Mario Maker 2, so FETH is up next. I am gonna predict what I think FETH will get on Opencritic and how much it will sale in it’s first week and overall. Here we go.
Fire Emblem is usually a favorite among critics and the early previews have been astonishing with reviewers gushing over the story, characters, combat and music. I predict the game will end up with a 93-95 on Opencritic with mostly 9s and 10s a few 8s and maybe 2 7s. I can see a few critics not liking the graphics and how the game takes a long time to get to the time jump, but with most critics, it won’t matter. The gameplay, story, music, characters and incredible length will blow most reviewers away. This could be an early favorite for GOTY.
I can see this having the biggest debut for a Fire Emblem game. I predict the game will sell the most in America and Japan, with Europe being the low point (which is saying a lot). I have first week sales at 1.7 million, and overall sales between 5-7 million copies. Fire Emblem has become a big franchise, but Three Houses will take it to another level.
Fire Emblem is gonna be an event game, and I can’t wait for new fans to play it. It is a great series everyone. Enjoy!

I was a little off on Mario Maker 2, but it ended up with an 89 on Opencritic. It also sold great, so I wasn’t far off. Now, I am turning my attention to Nintendo’s next big title, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. I am going to predict how many copies it will sell and how good the critics will like it.
The first Marvel Ultimate Alliance got an 82 while the second one got a 75 on Metacritic. I think this one will get better reception. I am going with an 83-86 on Opencritic. With critics raving about the combat, amount of characters, gorgeous graphics, and the sheer amount of content. I think some will find problems with fighting enemies over and over, while others won’t mind. I also think critics will love the look of MUA 3. The cell-shaded look is getting rave reviews with a lot of fans and critics preferring MUA3 look over the Square Enix Avengers game. I can see a few 7s, but it will get mostly 8s and 9s with a few 10s.
Sales figures prediction
The first MUA was a big hit on both the 360 and PS3 the second one did not do that great, so I am gonna be a little conservative. I am gonna predict a nice 600-800 thousand in the first 3 days. I think by the end of the year MUA 3 will be at 2.4 million and by the end of it’s run it will pass 3.5 million copies, which is great. I think the appeal of Marvel heroes plus the appeal of action RPGs on the go will help this game sell.
The Summer of Switch continues with another big hit for the Switch. MUA 3 will be huge for the Switch and it will move systems as well. Team Ninja did a wonderful job on the game and it is only 11 days away from release. Are you ready? I am.

The UK is not Nintendo’s biggest market, so when a Nintendo game debuts huge, it’s something to talk about.
Super Mario Maker 2, had one of the biggest debuts of the year in the UK, and the biggest Switch debut period.
What’s more, it helped other games, Bloodatain went up in sales, with the Switch version outselling the PS4 and X Box combined! All of this is from Nintendo Everything.
Mario Kart8 jumped from 8 to no5 with a 39% jump. Smash bros went u0 by 14%, but the biggest jumper was Breath of the Wild which jumped an amazing 66% and moved from no22 to no11. It missed the top 10 by only 28 copies.
The Switch system was no1 as well. The Nintendo Switch onslaught has begun. You’re ready for this ladies and gentleman. Sony put out a comment saying they don’t cosider the Switch big competition, they’re more worried sbout Microsoft. That little statement could come back to bite Sony in the butt. Links below,
My prediction for how Mario Maker 2 will do with critics and fans. Mario Maker 2 is the first of the real blockbusters for the Summer of Switch. Here are my thoughts on what the game will get with critics and how many people will buy it in it’s first week.
I think Mario Maker 2 will get a 94 on Opencritic. Critics will love the amount of content, the one player story mode, the creative courses, the multiplayer mode and the sheer amount of tools at your disposal.
Some will find a problem with the interface. Gamexplain has already went into detail, (maybe a little too much detail), on how it has been a challenge to adapt to the new format for Mario Maker 2. This is an adjustment because it is not on the Wii U anymore, so there is no second screen for the Switch. I think the lowest score this game will get is a 7. Out of 170 reviews, I see it mostly getting 9s and 10s, with reviewers being blown away by the massive amount of content and improvements this sequel makes. Some will give the game 8s and maybe a couple will give it a 7. Overall, a 94.
First week sales
Mario Maker 2 is doing great in the pre-orders, so it won’t be a surprise to see it debut big. How big? I think it could do Pokemon Let’s Go numbers. Around 3 million it’s opening week, with Japan and America being the 2 biggest markets. Fans will go crazy with the tool set you get and the multiplayer aspect. The marketing is great as well. This is getting fans pumped for the game. Mario Maker 2 is no1 on Amazon’s best selling video games. This game will sell over 10 million easily. It could crack 15 million by the end of the year. Do not underestimate Mario, many of us have made that mistake before, well not me, not this time.
What do you think? Do you think I will be right? Or am I off my rocker? Let me know with comments. Thank you so much for reading. Keep on gaming.

Even over Mario+Rabbids. I think Dragon Quest XI S will replace it as the Switch’s best selling 3rd party game. Here are 3 reasons why.
Dragon Quest is bigger than Final Fantasy in Japan. This game could top 2 million alone in Japan. Dragon Quest is only behind Pokemon Smash, and Splatoon when it comes to popularity. That’s quiet an accomplishment.
2: No Ordinary Port
This is like a new game. It has tons of new content, I will name a few of the new features. A 16-bit mode, new story elements, full Japanese voice acting, new creatures you can ride on, a horse racing mode and full orchestrated music. I haven’t touched the surface of the new content in this version. It’s staggering!
3: It’s a huge RPG you can play on the go.
Those are very popular on the Switch. Games like Skyrim and Diablo 3 have done big numbers on the Switch. Also, games like Octopath Travler, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the Final Fantasy games have done great as well. This will be an attractive game to those consumers who need a new RPG itch to scratch.
Square put a lot of effort into this game. The graphics are close to the PS4 version and there are so much new content to warrent a purchase, even if you’ve bought it on the PS4. This will also show people who don’t think 3rd party games can sell on the Switch just how big a game like this can be. Buy this game Nintendo fans!
Japan: 2.2 million
America: 1.2 million.
Other areas: 200k
Overall: 4.3 million physical and digital.
