Happy 3 Year Anniversary Nintendo Switch!

Happy third anniversary Nintendo Switch. What makes the Switch so good? It is a portable and a home console. What makes a system is the games. The Switch has lots of those. Let’s also talk about what the Nintendo Switch needs to do to keep the momentum going in the future.

Nintendo Switch Has Great Games

From Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to Fire Emblem Three Houses, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Link’s Awakening, Pokemon Let’s Go, Sword, and Shield, Mario Odyssey, Octopath Traveler, Astral Chain, Mario Maker two, and Breath of the Wild to name a few. What a lineup of games! The variety and exclusives make the library so good. Nintendo has had trouble with third party games before. They have learned to embrace third party exclusives and indie games. Tons of variety and lots of exclusives give the Switch one of the best lineups in gaming.

The Switch Is Versatile

You can play the Switch in handheld, tabletop, and TV mode. You can play with the Joy-Cons attached or detached. Take your Switch wherever you go and keep your game going. There are Switch owners who play on the bus, while they are in the doctor’s office, and on the bed. That is one of the main appeals of the Switch. People can play quality home console games anywhere they want when they want.

Best Controllers

The Switch has the pro controller and Joy-Cons. Both have their pros and cons. It depends on which one fits you better. The Switch does need analog triggers for FPS, but the built-in motion controls and IR camera gives a lot of versatility to the controllers. The design fits in your hand, and there are versatile options for those who like custom controllers.

Make the Online Robust

One department the Switch can do better is their online service. I like it, but some fans want to text achievements and invites. Nintendo can have a basic plan and a premium plan. Let the fans choose which version they want. Give them exclusive deals and games for being a premium subscriber. That would make subscribers happy and help the number of subscribers go up.

More Features

Nintendo, it is time to give the Switch folders, more wallpapers, internet, and Netflix. The Switch would be better if it had more features, and better UI. Give fans more features. The Switch could use more.

Final Thoughts

The Switch is my favorite System I’ve ever owned. The great games and versatile nature keep me coming back for more. I love playing it anywhere, and the games keep me engaged for months, or years after the release of the game. The Switch is my favorite System I’ve ever owned. The Video Game Awards Are A Joke Never Trust Them Again

Bootlick Standing got 10 award nominations, while much better games like Fire Emblem, Astral Chain, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Link’s Awakening get hardly none. The western video game media is a joke. Any game that has a big eastern influence in it, will get overlooked. Fire Emblem Three Houses should’ve been the front runner for game of the year, but oh no. The Kojima bootlickers have to give Bootlick Stranding nominations it didn’t deserve. Best game? What a joke. Take Kojima’s name off that game and it would be at a 62 on Metacritic. Geoff Keighley, you and your award show are a joke.

It wasn’t just Death Stranding. Control, another game that should not have been nominated. A bizarre story, but the gameplay is so mediocre and uninspired. But, because the western video game media wants video games to be interactive movies, it gets tons of nominations. Do not trust these award shows. They are all a joke. That includes the Oscars, the Grammy’s and the Emmys. They aren’t good measures by what is good art and what isn’t.

I am glad there has been huge blow-back from video gamers who smell a rat. Gee, Kojima is on the board of the VGAs. Geoff Keighley and him are close buddies. Don’t expect Smash to win GOTY. Don’t count on it. Just sit Kojima up there and have Keighley lick his boots and the video game media to do the same. This is a disgrace and this horrible game doesn’t deserve the nominations it got. A lot better games got snubbed for captain narcissist to get his nominations.

I don’t need to watch the VGAs to see the great new games that will be there. Just keep your eye on You Tube and pages You Tubers like OJX, OBE1 and RGT 85. What little respect I had for the VGAs went out the door when they gave Bootlicker Stranding ten nominations. Do not watch this joke of a show. I will put reviews below showing critics bootlicking Kojima. No game can be boring, convoluted, a mess and tedious and be called a good game. Never trust the VGA or the video game media again.

Nintendo Switch Is On Fire!

By Michelle Lynn Tackett

According to NPD, and Nintendo Everything. The Nintendo Switch dominated Sept. 2019 sales. How dominate? It had the highest sales total since the PS4 in 2014. That is amazing. This holiday is going to be fire for the Switch! Nintendo is killing it. Luigi’s Mansion 3, Link’s Awakening, Mario Maker 2, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Astral Chain and Pokemon Sword and Shield will drive holiday sales. Plus, the Switch Lite will help.

This proves a few things. One, exclusives are still queen when it comes to moving hardware. Two, single player games still sell, and three, never count out Nintendo. What a comeback, Nintendo is on fire right now. The Switch will easily pass 100 million in console sales in it’s lifetime. What a great time to be a Nintendo fan.

Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening: Review

By Michelle Lynn Tackett

Few things bring a smile to my face like a top/down Zelda game. The art style, enemies and dungeons bring back memories. That’s why I was excited when I saw Link’s Awakening trailer. Is this a legendary remake? Let’s find out.

Graphics
They are gorgeous and adorable. You will hug your Switch the whole time! The textures, lighting, and colors are fantastic. Some people talk about the frame rate dropping, such as when the game changes from one screen to the next, but I didn’t experience that. Grizzo did a great job with the graphics. Just because it looks cute, doesn’t mean it’s not a powerhouse. The animations are fluid. This is the best looking game on the Switch until Luigi’s Mansion 3 comes out.

Gameplay
There is nothing groundbreaking here. It’s a typical top/down Zelda game. That’s fine with me. Link gets the master-sword, Hylian shield, bombs, arrows, and more. Because of the extra buttons on the Switch controller, you don’t have to keep removing items. You can use more than one at a time. This is a major upgrade over the original. There are no major changes to the game-play, so if you’ve played any top/down Zelda games before, you know what to expect. Lots of post-game content including a colored dungeon, and a dungeon maker.

Music
The updated music is a delight to the ears! The remastered orchestras and strings give more power to the music. Plus, Ballad of the Wind Fish has lyrics! They will send chills up your spine.

Story
Without giving away anything for those who haven’t played Link’s Awakening. All I will say is Link wakes up on an island inhabited by strange creatures and likable characters. He tries to find a way off the island. How does he do that? Play the game to find out.

Flaws
There are a few flaws in the game. It’s not BOTW in size, but not every game is. The game does end a little abruptly, so that’s one area I would change. The biggest flaw is the Dungeon creator. It’s not Mario Maker 2.

Verdict: It’s a top/down Zelda Game, that’s all there is to say. The dungeons are great graphics are adorable and the gameplay is top-notch. Is this worth sixty bucks? Absolutely!

Grade: 4 Stars, a must-own adventure that plays wonderfully on the Switch.

Astral Chain Review

By Michelle Lynn Tackett

What a great year it’s been for the Nintendo Switch. Link’s Awakening, Fire Emblem and Mario Maker 2 highlight some incredible games, but what about new IPs? That’s where Astral Chain comes in. Like a blaze of fire burning through the sky, it delivers a streak of action and excitement.

Story
Humanity is being invaded by interdenominational creatures who threaten to wipe them out. Only an elite strike force called Neuron can stop them. You play as one of the twins who try to take down the demons. Your character has to stop Jana Anderson, who serves as the main villain in the game. The story has a Bladerunner flair to it. I won’t give away too much. This story needs to be experienced. It is a good story.

Graphics
This game is gorgeous. The blue hues and the art style are amazing. The reflections and lighting bring the world to life. It’s like watching a stylized anime on your Nintendo Switch. The details are amazing from the sparks from the fire to the facial animations of the characters. Everything is lovingly detailed, making the world feel alive. You’ll feel like you’re living in this world.

Combat
This is where Platinum Games shine. The combat sounds complicated on paper, but you’ll figure it out with some practice. You control your character and call your legion out when you need them. The legion attacks by itself, but you can do certain attacks by button presses, or moving the control stick. This gives the game a fresh feel. It does take a while to get the hang of but flows like butter when you get the hang of it. The combat never feels overwhelming. It follows the old easy to learn, but hard to master philosophy that works so well for games like Bayonetta.

Sci-Fi PI
One of my favorite aspects of Astral Chain is the detective work. The Iris helps you see things to help you solve cases. Some cases are simple, while others take a while to complete. There are so many cases to solve, so it will take some time to solve them. Some think they slow down the flow of the game, but I find them refreshing. Solving cases will help your character get new clothing and upgrades.

Music
One of the best soundtracks ever for a video game. The thumping techno, glaring punk rock and soaring rock will stick with you for a long time.

Challenge
This is a challenging game, especially when you turn up the difficulty. There is a casual mode for noobs, but you can take the wheels off for experienced players. The boss fights are epic. The final boss is one of the best boss fights I’ve ever experienced. It takes skill to beat this game, but when you do, you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment.

Flaws
The camera is distracting at times. When you’re in a firefight, the camera will get too close or go behind a wall and get stuck. This can be annoying, but it isn’t a deal-breaker. Some of the plot twists were predictable, and some of the moves will take lots of practice to get down. That may turn some newer players off.

Verdict
Astral Chain is one of the best action games you’ll ever play. The gorgeous visuals, engaging plot, colorful character, and rich combat will keep you coming back long after the single-player campaign is over. If you own a Nintendo Switch, get it. If you don’t own a Switch, get one and get this masterwork of an action game from one of the best developers in the industry.

Grade: 4 Stars! Buckle up! You’re in for a wild ride!

Switch Lite Helps Boost Switch Sales To Nearly 600,000!

The Nintendo Switch sold nearly 600,000 units last week. According to VGchartz, I’ll put the link below. Thanks to Link’s Awakening and the Switch Lite. With releases like Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword and Shield coming, the Switch will sell great through the holidays. I predict the Switch could sell 10-12 million units during the holidays. Bringing it’s yearly total to 19 million. PS4 will sell about 11 million and X-Box 8 million. For the year that is. Those are my predictions.

The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening Critic and Sales Predictions

It is that time again. I am gonna predict what kind of critical response and how much a certain game could sell. This time, it’s Link’s Awakening for the Nintendo Switch.

Critical Response

The early previews have been glowing, so that should equal to a 88-92 on Open and Meta critic. Reviewers love the look and the combat. That will help it score great with critics.

Sales

Remakes sell very well now, so I got this one between 4-6 million. A lot of people have never played Link’s Awakening, and for fans who missed dungeons in Breath of the Wild, Link’s Awakening has a dungeon creator and dungeons galore.

Final Thoughts

Link’s Awakening is a gem and since tons of new gamers have gotten into Zelda, a lot of them will check out this lost gem. Do not pass it up, this is going to be such a great game. The Legend of Zelda, Link’s Awakening comes out this Friday.

NPD For August 2019 Astral Chain is A Hit! Switch No1 System Seller

According to NPD, Nintendo Switch is holding the video game business together. Also, 9 out of the top 20 NPD games are Switch exclusives. Astral Chain only had 2 days of tracking and was no 10 for the month. This is without digital included. Fire Emblem held up strong. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and Super Mario Maker 2 held up strong. Expect September to be a big month with Link’s Awakening, Gears 5, Dragon Quest XI S, NBA 2K20 and Borderlands 3 coming out in September.

Fire Emblem Three Houses Selling Out! Mass Shortages

I predicted Fire Emblem Three Houses to be big, but not this big. Early reports have it selling out at a lot of retailers. It debuted at no1 in the UK by a wide margin according to Nintendo Everything and Amazon is completely sold out. Benji Sales who broke the news about MUA 3 big sales says that FETH is outperforming MUA3 by a big margin. Wow! I am so happy for Nintendo, Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo. Congrats!

Looks like Nintendo has another blockbuster on their hands. With Astral Chain, Daemon X Machina and Link’s Awakening coming out in the next 2 months, don’t expect the momentum to slow down anytime soon.

Why I Love Zelda Link’s Awakening Remake So much

I am so happy Nintendo is remaking this game with all new graphics, new mini games and a dungeon creator. What I really love is a new generation will get to experience this classic.

So many people have gotten into Zelda because of Breath of the Wild. Wait until you play this adorable game with whimsical characters, a cute art style, clever dungeons, a glorious soundtrack, good story and solid game play. If you have never played this game, get the remake and experience this classic.

I have so many found memories of this game, and I can’t wait to experience for everyone to enjoy this game. The clever way Mario enemies were worked into this game, was so good. Just get it people. It comes out September 20th for the Nintendo Switch. It is one of the most anticipated games this year, with good reason. This is in my top 5 Zelda games, and this remake may push it up into the top 3. I am overly excited!
